TREK FOR CHILDREN - JOIN THE PATH
I know what it's like. So, I have a plan to use that knowledge for good. I want to share opportunities. I want to challenge myself physically and mentally to hike and see those Shining Faces in India. This is a challenge we share - what if you will take a step with me to be a part of it?
I have come a long way: due to my parents military career as a child I moved a lot, as a young adult had and lost my own family which eventually brought me to living in the back of my car. Ultimately I took the ugly, but necessary steps from living on the streets in America, to being a wife and a mother in the Netherlands. The path I have walked is what makes my goal so important and so very personal.
Shining Faces is a small oragnization in the United Kingdom that supports the second largest home and school for orphans in Tamil Nadu, India. I found the charity via http://www.virginmoneygiving.com/, an international fundraising operator and via http://www.charitychallenge.com/ I found my first challenge, Trek to the home of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. This will be my first ever event, the start of a future - as an advocate for childrens rights to a better life. I will trek for thier rights!
Now, it is time for action: it takes a strong spirit and physical strength, however at 1 meter 62 and 85 kilos the challenge has become more than just the fundraising and the trek itself. It is also the challenge for me to overcome my overweight and build the physical condition necessary to climb the Himalayas. Not to mention the challenge to ignite the spark of compassion around the world.
This is a shared good will journey. This event is an international journey: the path will be followed at least in the Netherlands, Finland, the United States,and of course the United Kingdom. What role will you choose? What amazing returns await you or your company on this journey...
